Ensemble Dance is a group of dancers, actors and musicians who experiment, create, and perform together.
Some Ensemble Dance Artists have been involved in the creation of multiple pieces to date, while others have collaborated on only one project. With each new work by Ensemble Dance, new collaborators are welcomed into the process, and the company grows.
Ensemble Dance pieces require that all the performers involved wear multiple hats, and not just that of "dancer" or "actor" or "musician." All of the artists involved in the company, even our designers and composers, are encouraged to improvise, create, and perform in all the areas of dance, music and theater (both in the rehearsal studio and on stage).
In all of our work we open ourselves up to blurring the boundaries between roles, and to approach each piece as a company of players.
A sense of community is important to the culture of Ensemble Dance, and so we like to recognize all who have been involved in our Works to date. Members listed in bold have collaborated on three or more pieces.
